Lori has a diverse business background. Her love affair with home sales really began in 1991 with her marketing magazine. The photography end of the business led to opportunities with local and national magazines, private contractors and owners, as well as the MLS service. It seemed as natural that she gradually moved forward to become a professional Realtor and eventually joined Kona Homes Inc., the BigIsland real estate company that is “all about marketing”.
Lori loves to travel! After a number of trips to Europe, her favorite places for vacation are a toss-up between Italy and the GreekIsland of Rhodes. Her passion for exotic locations brought her and her husband, Bud, to the Big Island, Hawaii, and the inevitable dream of living in Paradise. That dream was fulfilled when they purchased The Pagoda House, a Kona coffee farm in Captain Cook.
In Lori’s words, “For Bud and I, having a coffee farm has been an amazing experience. Good thing the trees are smart, because we have been on quite a learning curve. Everything from creating the label and website, to pruning and fertilization of the trees, drying the beans to roasting! Now we are in the process of making Pagoda House Coffee certified organic. We support the Kona coffee industry, with memberships in the both the Kona Coffee Council and the Kona Coffee Farmers Association. As new growers, both associations have given us a great deal of information and classes.”
 What is the next momentous occasion? Doggie Training classes! There is a puppy in the house. “Our two boys are out of college and well into their lives and careers…so of course we lost our minds and got a new baby! One with four legs named Maggie. She’s really going to be a large animal, probably in the neighborhood of 95lbs. Not to have training would just be absurd.” Lori added.
Being a Realtor is Lori’s opportunity to help others make their dreams come true too. She believes no dream is too small or too big. “Coffee farm, vacation rental property, home site, water-front property, fantasy estate or starter home; I love helping people find the right BigIsland home.” Lori Burris said.
